Montana's iconic Smith River offers great fishing and a fantastic float experience to those lucky enough to draw a permit. but the health and quality of the Smith is under threat from a potential large-scale copper mine in the headwaters of the Smith drainage. Trout Unlimited is fighting the mine's development and Colin Cooney, Montana Field Coordinator for TU's Sportsmen's Consercation Project, is on the front lines of this battle. Please come to this iportant presentation to learn the dangers the Smith faces and what TU is doing to educate, organize and mobilize the various stakeholders to protect our river for future generations.

WSCTU Honors Veterans

In celebration of Veterans Day, the WestSlope Chapter will honor all vets with a special gift. Please invite your veteran friends to the meeting so we can thank them for their service. We will be supporting Warriors and Quiet Waters in Bozeman, which helps post 9/11 vets. To further their work, the WSCTU will be sponsoring an all-day fly tying event in January with all flies conated to their organization.
